2010 MWFA Football Season weeks away

Hello Footballers!

With the 2010 season fast approaching it is that time again to dust off the boots and get set for another fun season of football on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

It is a World Cup year and the Socceroo's are going, so it is definitely going to be a year all about the round ball game :)

This year SportsMassive will try our best to get as many results, news, gossip and banter published and sent out to the avid local football community.

We need your perticipation:

If you wish to contribute articles about your matches please feel free to do so. The comments section is craving for your side of the story and on weekends leap onto the blog and tell us in the comments section about how your game went and what the score was.

At SportsMassive this season we will also try to publish any local football related news and views as we hear about them and get this info to you as it is fresh. Hopefully that will contain some special offers for our readers and knowledge ahead of the main field.

We will mainly be covering the AL1's and Premier League men's games. Ladies in Prem's - feel free to get involved and start some debate, we are listening and we will try our best to cover your games too.

OK, that's enough waffle from us. Enjoy the final trial games and good luck to you all in the new season's competitions!!

Best regards,
SportsMassive

AL1's Semi Finals tomorrow

The season is all concluded.

Vale are up to prems and Av will have to wait until next year to give it another go (and didn't they get close!) Well done Manly Vale, who were certainly the dominant force this season.

Congrats to Avalon's reserves for winning the reserves league, with Vale very close behind. Vale and Avalon were certainly the two best squads in the league for sure.

Semi Finals are tomorrow at Grahams reserve, with reserves kicking off at 12.30pm.

Avalon v Curl Curl and Manly Vale v Saints. Get an Eski, buy something cold and make an afternoon of it in the sun!

Will any of the half time team talks be like this one?

Updated tables moving into the last weekend of the season

Hello Football players and fans.

AL1's update:

First grade

Manly Vale, Avalon and Mosman are guaranteed finals football. The minor champions (league winners) will be confirmed at 4.45pm Saturday. If Vale beat Dee Why they will win and gain promotion to the premiership. If Vale lose we cant see Brookvale overcoming Avalon, so the premiership hop up will be theirs'. Only Av and Vale have the possibility of going up.

Dee Why, Saints and Harbord are all still in with a chance for that 4th finals berth.

Here is a link to the first grade table:

Reserves
CONGRATULATIONS Avalon!!!!!!!!!!
Avalon have won the minor championship (top of the league.) Av were certainly strong all year and whilst Vale and Saints rallied very well Av seemed to be able to score so many more goals than anyone else and that my dear readers is how you win games... Av also have the best defensive record along with Saints, which also helps to avoid losing ;)

So, with Avalon top, either Vale or Saints will finish 2nd and 3rd, with Curly already booked in the 4th finals berth.

Here is a link to the reserves table:

Good luck to every player this weekend. There is certainly a battle ongoing in first grade for promotion, the title and finals berths. Go hard!

Check out this video from the Manly Vale v's Brookie clash a week or so ago. Some impressive play from the league leaders!

If it doesn't bucket it down in the next few days it is a double header weekend. Good luck to one and all (if Vale win their two games in first grade they will be in the premiership next year...)
