Once again a watery deluge has spoiled our weekend football fun, for a second week running!
At Sports Massive we have been rather subdued this weekend, left with nothing much to do...
The English FA Cup final was one late night highlight of the weekend with Londoners Chelsea defeating the 'Toffee men' from Merseyside Everton 2-1. Frank Lampard sealing the game winner with a non trademark left foot finish.
Rangers also backed up their league win in the Scottish Premiership with a cup win against Falkirk.
With nothing much to do we have been surfing the www and amusing ourselves with our discoveries. Posted below are a couple of these finds:
Crossbar challenge - check out Barry Mason at 2.52 mins hilarious!!

Viduka left out of Socceroo's squad
It's raining, I certainly hope it doesn't continue all week otherwise we might have another weekend of no football! I thought rain was supposed to stop play with sports like tennis, not football?!!!
Well, as it's raining how about something topical and relevant to Australian Football?
Mark Viduka has been left out of the Socceroos squad by Pim Virbeek! Yes, the frank Dutchman (he couldn't really be another nationality with a name like Pim Verbeek. In fact he could be a gangster who sells birds of the fluttering variety with a 'p' following his first name, I wonder if his favourite drink is Pimms?) has left out Viduka from the final 3 World Cup Qualifiers.
Well Viduka did jump ship from Middlesborough over to the not so mighty anymore Toon Army. Down Newcastle have gone with Viduka not only suffering at club level but international competition also.
Speaking of the Socceroo's...
Do you want tickets to the Australia v Bahrain match at the ANZ Stadium on June 10th?
Get yourself down to The Sydney Football Stadium, Gate A at 10.30am sharp this Saturday the 30th May for your chance to not only win tickets but also participate in a film shoot! Lunch and soft drinks will be provided too!
You do have to register by Friday the 29th May to be able to qualify for the above so email or sms your details to:
email: katerina@dg3.com.au
sms: 0412 111 250
Good luck!
Here is a comical song that was made when Mark Viduka was at Borough.
Here are a few Viduka goals:

Soccer in wet weather, snow and a few other environments...
Well, the soccer / football games are off this weekend. Sportsmassive thought it would be fun to publish a few videos of games that have been played in weather far worse than mere rain...
1997: Chelsea in the snow at Tromso Norway
Playing football with lightning? (Fortunately nobody was seriously hurt.)
How about the MWFA organises a beach soccer comp, when the games are rained off?
OK that's it for now. Fingers crossed the rain will abate and we can get back into the swing of things next weekend.

In prem reserves a large win for Beacon Hill away at Manly Allambie improved there title chances 0-4. A close game saw Mosman edge to the win in a 2-3 thriller away at Forest.

Yesterdays results and tables and Fergie missing his bus
Just a quick one: I have all the results from yesterdays games, however I am locked out of my phone and cannot get to them!!
Please be patient and I will update all tables once I have gained access to my phone.
I will drip as many scores as I can on the sportsmassive Twitter site (link bottom right of this page.)
For now I suppose I could incentivise some banter:
United have won another English Premiership, there are two further battles continuing along, down to the wire:
Fulham or Spurs could get the 7th spot and into Europe as a result.
At the lower end of the league relegation looms:
Who do you think will be relegated?
Post some comments about it all below.
Alex Ferguson was seen trying to catch a bus after the game, however he got very annoyed because it did not stop - re below.

Sat 16th May 2009 Northern Beaches Football Fixtures
Find below all the football fixtures for this Saturdays games on the Northern Beaches for Premier League and AL1's, (Mosman are away in both divisions so it's all defo on the beaches...)
Premier League
A big fixture that sticks out to me in Prems is the Pitts v Brookie clash of the titans. The mighty Azzurri travel up to the peninsula renowned Kitchener to battle it out. Will the green and whites put up a fight? Or will the Brookie Blues be in for a goal or two?

Northern Beaches Premier League Fixtures for 16th May 2009
AL1's
In the AL1's an interesting tie between Dee Why and Avalon who are both battling it out to gain some traction in first grade. League leaders Manly Vale host Curl Curl at home and will be celebrating regardless of the result with the grand opening of their new clubhouse. A celebrity match follows first grades game and rumour has it that the mighty Bosnich might be making an appearance! I cannot verify if this is truly the case, so why not make your way down to David Thomas Reserve to join in the fun on Saturday evening.

Northern Beaches AL1's Fixtures for 16th May 2009
Good luck to one and all this weekend. I will attempt to update the Sportsmassive Twitter site (link bottom right) with all the scores. I will also try my best to publish both Prems and AL1's tables by the end of the weekend.
Keep it Football :)

Chelsea's Frank Lampard On The Radio
Chelsea FC star Frank Lampard was enraged when his sister called him to say that his private affairs were being discussed on a London radio station. Frank duly picked up the phone and had it out on air with the radio presenter. Enjoy!

Funny Harry Redknapp Interview
Harry Redknapp is currently managing EPL side Spurs. This interview of Redknapp is on the training field when Harry was manager of English side Portsmouth FC.
Keep an eye on the guys warming up with the long passes in the background. I think Harry must have been having a bad day.
Harry cracks it big time!! Enjoy.

David Thomas Reserve Amenities and Lights Grand Opening!
David Thomas Reserve, home to the mighty Manly Vale Football Club, has a gala night on the 16th May 2009. Get down to 'the fortress' David Thomas Reserve next Saturday where politicians, the mayor and other local dignitaries and celebrities will join in the celebrations to officially welcome Manly Vale's new flood lights and sheds.
I am not sure if this is the first step to a 90,000 capacity football stadium at David Thomas Reserve? The committee at the mighty Manly Vale Football Club insist that it should be a good fun night for players, fans and family.

"Let there be LIGHT"
Manly Vale FC are riding high in the AL1 division this season, currently sitting at the top with a massive fixture this afternoon against second placed St Augustine's FC. Breaking scores later today will be posted on the Sportsmassive Twitter site: www.twitter.com/sportsmassive
