Updated tables moving into the last weekend of the season

Hello Football players and fans.

AL1's update:

First grade

Manly Vale, Avalon and Mosman are guaranteed finals football. The minor champions (league winners) will be confirmed at 4.45pm Saturday. If Vale beat Dee Why they will win and gain promotion to the premiership. If Vale lose we cant see Brookvale overcoming Avalon, so the premiership hop up will be theirs'. Only Av and Vale have the possibility of going up.

Dee Why, Saints and Harbord are all still in with a chance for that 4th finals berth.

Reserves
CONGRATULATIONS Avalon!!!!!!!!!!
Avalon have won the minor championship (top of the league.) Av were certainly strong all year and whilst Vale and Saints rallied very well Av seemed to be able to score so many more goals than anyone else and that my dear readers is how you win games... Av also have the best defensive record along with Saints, which also helps to avoid losing ;)

So, with Avalon top, either Vale or Saints will finish 2nd and 3rd, with Curly already booked in the 4th finals berth.

Good luck to every player this weekend. There is certainly a battle ongoing in first grade for promotion, the title and finals berths. Go hard!

Here is a video that will get you in the mood:

A three minute hatrick from Robbie Fowler from his Liverpool days!

Enjoy.

  1. It is Vale's title to lose! Ava just have to turn up and will get 3 points and possible promotion because Dee Why are on fire. No pressure Vale... ;)

I have followed a few teams in my lifetime: Marconi, Manly, Manu, Chelsea (for 2 years before switching back to Manu), Juve, Inter and Preston North End. However there is only one team that has brought a tear to my eye. i watch them every week, come rain or snow (unless it's cancelled.) They are a strapping bunch of lads and play like real men. They are strong, healthy and noble. The mighty Manly Vale are my team, although if Avalon get promoted I might go for them (however I don't fancy the trip up to the Central Coast!!)

Good luck you young pups. I will be the one on the sideline with a badger in my satchel.

  5. Good day to you all! Or should I say G'day? I am a Pom you see. I happened to stumble upon this blog because my Grandson is a member of this group on Facebook and he happens to be in Australia, I wont mention his name, I dont want to embarrass him. Now Football is played with the feet, let me tell you. It is not soccer it is football (the feet strike the ball) FOOTBALL. Soccer? Calling rugby "Football"? GayFL????
I will come down under and teach you all a lesson. I didnt fight in a world war to call it 'soccer' Thank you.

  6. Thanks Grandpa. Rugby is played by men with oddly shaped balls. Whoever comes up to prems you dont have a hope against the big boys like Brookie.

  7. The season is almost over - except the decision of Premier league winners and promotion from Al1's.

Thanks to sports massive for all of the work done to keep the northern beaches (and Avalon - CC) up to date with the developments / results and league tables from the Al1's / Prems.

Looking forward to the remaining posts / comments and next season already!
